The Northern Zambia Union Conference (NZUC) is proposing to roll out 7me, the official Adventist church app, as a digital giving option across all churches currently operating on the ACMS Treasury module. The initiative would give members across the Union a second, optional way to return their tithes and offerings — alongside, not instead of, the cash-based systems most churches already use.

The proposal follows a successful demonstration held in Ndola, Kitwe, and Lusaka for Union and Conference leadership responsible for the Adventist Church Management System, along with a selected group of district coordinators and church treasurers. The sessions were led by Karabo Mitileni, Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division ACMS Coordinator responsible for the Treasury module.

Why the Union Is Looking at Digital Giving

Across our churches, tithes and offerings are still collected almost entirely in cash, counted after service, and deposited at the bank in the days that follow. This system has faithfully served the church for generations. But it also has known gaps that a purely cash-based process cannot close:

• Members who are traveling, working away from home, sick, or elderly often have no practical way to give on the Sabbaths they are absent, even when they remain willing and financially able to do so.
• Pledged or intended giving does not always become an actual deposit. A member may set cash aside to bring “next Sabbath,” and for entirely ordinary reasons — a forgotten envelope, a missed service, a busy week — that intention never reaches the church account.
• Treasury teams carry a heavy manual burden, spending hours counting, reconciling, and transporting cash to the bank each week, with the associated time, effort, and security risk that comes with handling physical cash.
• Younger, digitally native members increasingly transact without cash at all, and a cash-only offering plate can feel like a step backward from how they already manage the rest of their financial lives.
• Members living outside their home congregation, including those in the diaspora, currently have no simple way to support their home church directly.

None of this reflects a lack of faithfulness among our members. It reflects the natural limits of a system built entirely around a physical plate, a physical service, and a physical bank visit.

What 7me Offers

7me is the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s official companion app to the Adventist Church Management System (ACMS), already in use by conferences and unions around the world, including SDA congregations elsewhere in Zambia. Alongside features such as church news, event calendars, and prayer requests, 7me includes a Tithe and Offering function that allows members to:

1. Select their home church within the app.
2. Choose the appropriate giving category — tithe, local offering, or another designated fund.
3. Enter the amount and confirm the transaction.
4. Receive an automatic digital receipt, while the church treasury receives an itemized, reconciled record of the gift.

Because 7me is built to work alongside ACMS, giving recorded through the app flows directly into the same Treasury module already used by church treasurers for reporting — reducing manual data entry and reconciliation work rather than adding to it.

Local churches are encouraged to share this video with their congregations ahead of any local demonstration or launch event, and to check the official 7me YouTube channel for additional tutorials as they become available.

Not a Replacement — an Addition

The Union wishes to be clear: this initiative does not remove or replace Cash Only batches. Churches will continue to count, reconcile, and bank cash offerings exactly as they do today. 7me simply adds a second, optional channel for members who are better served by digital giving — while every gift, cash or digital, continues to be recorded through the same Treasury reporting structure.

Proposed Next Steps

The Union is proposing the following rollout approach for churches using the ACMS Treasury module:

• Local demonstrations at church level, using the tutorial video above, to introduce members to the app and help them register their home church correctly.
• Treasury team briefings, confirming how 7me contributions appear in Treasury module reporting alongside cash batches, so reconciliation remains fully auditable at every level.
