One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is Prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White. As the Lord’s messenger, her writings are continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction. They also make clear that the bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested – Fundamental Beliefs, pg. 17.
GE 05 05 Ellen G. White Writings: “The writings of Ellen G. White are, in a special sense, the property of the Church. The published writings and the manuscripts were both placed by her in the care of the Ellen G. White Board of Trustees, which is responsible for their safekeeping and for the promotion of their publication in all leading languages.
The purpose of Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) Ministries Department in the Church is to educate members the need to continue recognizing the importance and relevancy of this prophetic gift and to awaken every member to the study and upholding of this prophetic gift and the writings of Ellen G. white.
The objectives of the Spirit of Prophecy are:
a. To encourage proper use of the Spirit of Prophecy
b. To encourage members to read and study systematically Ellen G. White books in order to understand and appreciate the Spirit of Prophecy.
